President of Romania Klaus Johannis said on Friday that he plans to continue as president until a new president is elected.
His term is set to end on December 21. Romania’s Constitutional Court annulled the results of the first round of the country’s presidential election on Friday. The reason was suspected Russian election influence.
Parliamentary elections will be held in Romania on December 1. After the election, Johannis appoints a new prime minister to form the government. The new government will determine the schedule for new presidential elections.
