Despite that, it was the Belgian Yves Lampaert, who started quite late in the field, who took the stage victory.

Second was Lampaert’s compatriot Wout van Aert.
The first stage was a 13.2 kilometer long pace race.
The 23-year-old Slovenian Tadej Pogacar, who finished third, is defending the title. The Slovenian is chasing his third straight title in the tour.
The next race on the tour is 202.5 kilometers long and will be cycled between Roskilde and Nyborg on 2 July.
