The Port Workers’ Union demands that a social fund be established, with the aim of supporting employers who choose to rehabilitate needy employees after a long-term illness or injury.
“In the ports, many people work in an extremely insecure form of employment which means that they end up in the middle of the insurance systems, even though some may have made a living as dock workers for decades,” writes the Port Workers’ Union’s union chairman Martin Berg in a press release.

The Port Workers’ Union also demands that newly employed and hired dock workers have the right to a paid union induction with the Port Workers’ Union.
