With the high inflation, the price of many different goods has increased, which is not least reflected in the grocery stores.

During the summer, many consumers have also noticed that the price of ice cream has increased, something like News24 previously reported on. It then emerged that the unit price of the popular Piggelin ice cream has increased by 2,900 percent. At the launch in 1972, a Piggelin cost only 50 öre, and today the ice cream costs around 15 kroner.

Apotekskollen has, in a price index survey for various medicines, concluded that the price of non-prescription medicines has increased since July last year.

The survey shows that over-the-counter medicines are 7.7 percent more expensive right now, compared to last year.

– The prices of medicines are rising despite low inflation, which is remarkable and points to the fact that pharmacies have received increased costs, says Oscar Frendin Nilssondoctor and founder of the School of Pharmacy in one press release.

A drug category that has increased the most is drugs for fever and pain, such as Alvedon and Ipren.

– It is popular drug categories that have had the biggest price increases. This explains why the development of the weighted price index, which corresponds to a typical customer’s purchase, increases by as much as 8.9 percent, continues Frendin Nilsson.

The increase is six times higher than the Swedish inflation rate, which was 1.3 percent in June 2024.
