Pope Francis was hospitalized in Rome on Saturday after contracting the flu, the Vatican announced.
According to the tests that were carried out, the Pope, who at a young age had surgery to remove parts of one of his lungs, should not have suffered from any complications in the airways.
As a result of the illness, Franciskus, who turns 87 in December, canceled several of his planned commitments. In April this year, the Pope spent three days in hospital due to respiratory problems.
