On the Riksdag’s website it is clearly stated: “When a member chooses a means of transport, he must take into account the cost of the journey, travel time and how the journey affects the environment”. Despite this, there are many people who choose a less environmentally friendly and more expensive means of transport to work – namely taxis.
In a review from Dagens ETC, it is reported which members of parliament have the largest taxi bill in 2024.

Most short taxi journeys in the Riksdag: “Don’t be ashamed”
One of the worst performers this year is the Sweden Democrat Nima Gholam Ali Pour. Between December 1, 2023 and December 1, 2024, he traveled by taxi 294 times. 234 of them have ended up with a note under 250 kroner, which means that Gholam Ali Pour did not go very far.
According to the newspaper, he is the Member of Parliament who has taken the most short trips of all. He explains that, after all, the short taxi journeys are justifiable.
– I think it is more important that I do my job in the Riksdag than that I think about whether I should take a taxi or one or the other, says Nima Gholam Ali Pour to Dagens ETC.

The Sweden Democrat ended up in second place for the most short taxi journeys Jessica Stegrudin third place was the Social Democrat Peter Hultqvist and in shared fourth place was the Sweden Democrat Tobias Andersson and the leftist Gudrun Nordborg.
In a comment to the newspaper, Andersson writes that he sometimes chooses Uber or Bolt because of the low prices.
“I am not ashamed that, as a member, I sometimes take a taxi when there is a need”.

On the other hand, the Social Democrat and former Minister of Justice have the biggest taxi bill in the entire Riksdag Morgan Johansson – and for the second year in a row. Johansson’s bill for 2023 ended up totaling SEK 141,514. This year, that sum is less, as it landed at SEK 114,837.
According to the Social Democrats’ press service, Johansson’s taxi trips are due to security reasons, something they state to Dagens ETC.
The Social Democrat has the second largest bill for taxi trips Marianne Fundahn. She has paid a total of SEK 89,081 for taxis this year, according to the newspaper.
