The politician saws the popular cafe chain Soulless

Bröd och Salt is a café chain that was founded in 2011. At first, it was mainly bread that the chain sold, due to the high demand for freshly baked bread.

Today, Bröd och Salt is a café chain that sells both bread, pastries, buns and lunches.

Everything is baked in the chain’s main bakery in Västberga outside Stockholm. Bröd og salt also sells its cakes in selected grocery stores around Stockholm.

Right now, the chain has 26 cafes in Stockholm and plans to build a 27th, which would be a 400 square meter flagship store on Karlavägen in central Stockholm.

The politician saw Bread and Salt

In the days so did Dennis Wedin, moderate opposition city council in Stockholm a statement on his Tiktok where he saw the cafe chain and its growth in the Stockholm area.

In the clip, he says that he will not go into Bröd och Salt and that he considers the chain to be “soulless”. He urges people to support small businesses and smaller pastry shops, instead of chains like Bröd and Salt.

– There was a huge discussion on Tiktok. I feel that I have a lot of support in this. Many people recognize themselves, says Dennis Wedin The Express and continues:

– Many people, including me, feel that we are getting an increasingly boring and straight-laced city. It’s not good. Both Stockholmers and Stockholm City Hall must start supporting our local shops and traders, so we can continue to have a genuine offer. Soulless chains benefit from tougher times for small businesses.

Bread and Salt about the politician’s sawing

Bröd och Salt has commented on Wedin’s statement and the criticism the chain has received, which Mitti Stockholm also reported on.

Bread and Salt’s marketing manager Annelie West, do not consider the chain to be “soulless”. She says that the company is family-run and that many have worked together since the start in 2011.

– I don’t think Dennis Wedin knows much about us. We also struggle hard, just like a small business owner. It is not something that we get for free. We are considered big because we open everywhere. But we are also a small organization in the office with only nine to ten people, she adds the newspaper.

According to Annelie Vest, the chain has more plans to expand and open even more cafes in the future.
