The bill for damaged police vehicles is increasing again, new figures obtained by TV4Nyheterna show. Last year, the bill ended at over SEK 90 million, and it is deliberate sabotage that is increasing the most.
During the 2022 Easter Race, there were 87 damages to police vehicles. This contributed to the police’s costs for vehicle damage increasing compared to the previous year. The cost of blue light sabotage increased sharply, to just over nine million kroner.
– The absolute majority of blue light sabotage in 2022 is due to the Easter coup, says Commissioner Göran Bolinder at the Police Vehicle Service.
