The police in the East region warn against walking around with weapon-like objects outdoors during Halloween.
The warning also applies to small children.

The reason for the warning is about recent acts of violence.
– This has been the case for several years. But recently it has become so obvious that professional criminals have used children in their dirty deeds to carry out acts of violence. It has made the citizens a little more on their toes, says Johnny Gustafsson, press spokesperson for the police in the East region.
Warns of Halloween costumes
The police believe that it can be dangerous for the person who dresses up, but also that it takes resources from the police to respond to an alarm without a real threat. The warning applies to everyone, even people who are obviously dressed up and even if it’s small children.
– I think that as a parent you should help the children to pay attention to the fact that it can be inappropriate to look like you have something dangerous with you.
However, having the pretend weapon inside a party is okay, according to the police.
– It’s not a crime to go around with a line as long as you don’t threaten anyone with it.
Takes resources from the police
