It is the police region East, which includes Östergötland, Sörmland and Jönköping, that issued the call on its website.
According to Johnny Gustavsson, press spokesperson for the police, innocent joking with a toy gun has involved police calls in both Eskilstuna and Norrköping in the past year.
According to Gustavsson, even clear toys can be difficult to distinguish from sharp at longer distances and the police therefore want to avoid frightening misunderstandings.
