Petra Lundh has been involved in several government investigations, including one on police training. Police must become an attractive profession One of Lundh’s most important tasks, according to Katharina von Sydow, is to ensure that more people want to become police officers and then stay in the profession. – The issues she raised, which the police union also sees as one of her most important tasks, is that she should work to make the police a more attractive employer. There are plenty of challenges. But resources and staffing can solve them in the long run, says von Sydow. – The police authority has been underfunded for a long time, under many different governments. Now the budget has been increased so that there will be more police officers, but it takes time. With the serious crime that takes more resources to investigate, the Police Agency cannot complete its entire mission and you have to be a little patient with that, that it takes longer. Want to see deputy national police chief Lundh is not a police officer by profession, but if you introduce a deputy national police chief, as the union wants, it could be a policeman. – One of the things that the Police Association brought forward is that the police need a deputy national police chief, and we think that it could be a police officer.
