The Police Union demands that the government appoint a national crisis commission to stop violent gang crime, writes TT.

– There has to be a gathering now, the weekend’s events were another step towards a path that no one wants, says federation president Katharina von Sydow to the news agency.

The announcement comes two days after a 15-year-old boy and a 45-year-old man died in connection with the shooting in the center of Farsta.

All parliamentary parties must be included

Katharina von Sydow says that a broad mobilization in society is required to stop the development. She also praises the police who work against the violent acts, but emphasizes that it does not seem to help.

– The influx of new criminals must be stopped. Then it is important, in addition to all these repressive measures that are necessary and good, to talk about prevention and also make sure that there are conditions for having a social service that works and can act, she tells TT.

In the demand, the Police Union states that all parties in the Riksdag should be part of the crisis commission with the goal of producing an action plan. Municipalities, regions, business and civil society must all be included in the work, according to the plan.
