The police take over SVT’s premises in Stockholm – become neighbors to the TV house

The office building was used by SVT’s staff until the turn of the year. Among other things, the building has been a place for office rooms, conference rooms and the TV house’s lunch restaurant Gourmedia.

Since the turn of the year, all SVT staff have been working in the TV house, which is directly adjacent to the Kontorshuset. And now it is clear that the Police will be the public service company’s new neighbour.

SRF, Public Servicebolagen’s joint real estate company, has signed a lease agreement for the rental of the entire Kontorshuset at Oxenstiernsgatan 26 in Stockholm to the authority.

Will be home to local police and border police

Personnel from the local police area North inner city and the border police unit will work in the premises. They are expected to move in in the fall of 2025, when the renovation of the house is expected to be completed.

– It is good that SRF has got a tenant for the office building and the tenant is well suited as a neighbour. Special adjustments will be made to separate the operations, says Lena Lundqvist, CEO SRF to SVT.

CFO: Important part of savings package

According to SVT’s finance director, the rental is an important part of SVT’s savings package. The rental income is expected partly to finance the renovation itself and partly to enable program investments in the long run.

Some of the announced adaptations have to do with the TV house being a protected object. Today, the office building is side by side with the TV house, but according to SRF, the two building bodies will be separated, so that the office building will be outside the TV house’s shell protection.
