Nude photos of young people are shared on so-called “expose accounts” on social media.
Now the police sound the alarm.

The number of police reports where children and young people have shared nude photos, videos of abuse, rape or fights on so-called “expose accounts” is increasing. This is what the police write in a press release.
In many cases, it is young people who spread the images, and in just as many cases, it is young girls who are victimized.
The police are now warning young people against sharing nude photos online.
– There are many, generally young girls, who feel bad and who regret it afterwards. They don’t want to go to school and feel mentally ill, says Elin Alinder, investigator at the Youth Group in Umeå.
– It’s a huge problem in Umeå, where recently there has been a normalization among mainly girls to take and send pictures because “otherwise you’re pretty” or a nerd. So you do it, even if you don’t really want to, she continues.
