Yesterday, a young man was shot dead at a school in Eskilstuna. The man himself was a student at the school. No one has yet been arrested for the crime and the police are still hunting suspected perpetrators. At half past four on Thursday afternoon, the police in Eskilstuna were called to a parking lot at a high school after a young man had been shot. The man, who himself was a student at the school, was taken to hospital but his life could not be saved. According to information to TV4 Nyheterna, the police chased two suspicious men who fled the scene on an electric scooter during Thursday evening. – We have divided our resources and are working at the crime scene. Then we are out looking for perpetrators throughout Eskilstuna. We also have a smaller resource at the hospital to maintain a calm situation there, said police spokesperson Johnny Gustafsson to TV4 Nyheterna yesterday evening. During Friday morning, the police announced that they still had not arrested anyone for the murder. According to the police, the man had known connections to criminal networks and at an early stage the police announced that there is nothing to indicate that the incident can be connected to the school environment itself. There is also a preschool near the site. TT reports that several children were outside playing in the yard when the shooting took place. During the morning, the police will hold a press conference regarding the murder.
