The police state in a press release on Tuesday that there is an ongoing conflict between criminal groups, and have made decisions to introduce safety zones in several city districts.
The murdered 35-year-old can be found in the charge register for more than 30 episodes. Among other things, he has been convicted of violent, weapons and drug offences.

In conflict with other gangs
In a statement to the Correctional Service last year, the police stated that the man is part of a criminal network that is in conflict with other gangs.
In May 2015, he was sentenced to four years and four months in prison for aggravated assault after shooting a man in both legs outside Mälarsjukhuset in Eskilstuna.
Visit denied
In the fall of 2023, the man was sentenced to a shorter prison sentence for, among other things, gross illegal driving and violation of the Knife Act. In prison, he applied to receive a visit from a relative, but the Correctional Service refused his request, citing that such a visit could jeopardize security.
