A police operation will be carried out in several parts of the country between 18 and 24 November.
The initiative goes by the name Julfrid and aims to reduce violence in the home. It is the police in Region Mitt who carry out the operation.
News24 have talked to Anders Wallnerpolice and operations manager for Julfrid.
– Much of the violence in close relationships takes place within the four walls of the home. Therefore, it is extremely important that neighbors and others who move in a residential area who see and hear warning signs of violence dare to tip the police, he says.

The police’s goal is to make people aware that you can contact the police if you suspect that someone is in trouble, or if you yourself are in trouble at home.
– With our work, we hope to make people aware of how important it is to act on their gut feeling and let the authorities get information so that we can help save lives. We know that violence increases during long weekends and therefore it feels important to reach out to as many people as possible before the Christmas and New Year holidays, he tells Nyheter24.
