A major police operation is underway in connection with a junior high school in Karlstad.
– Students saw an armed man in the area near the school, says school director Maria Kjällström to Nya Wermlands-Tidningen.
Several police units and ambulances are on site at a school in Karlstad.
– We received a call at 11:30 a.m. about observations of a person that means we need to go there and check, says Anders Dahlman, police spokesperson.
According to school director Maria Kjällström, who Nya Wermlands-Tidningen has spoken to, it concerns students who claim to have seen an armed man near the school.
– They immediately made a decision about accommodation in accordance with our routines, then the police were alerted, Kjällström tells the newspaper.
The suspected armed person is not said to have attacked, nor is there any current threat to the school.
The police: “Do not want to comment”
The police, who have no information about injured people, cannot confirm the school director’s information.
– I don’t want to comment on it at the moment, but we have a well-balanced resource in place, says Anders Dahlman.
