During the weekend, the police are monitoring several areas in the southern Stockholm area with drones. The measure is directly linked to the wave of violence with gang connections that has collapsed since the end of last year.
It concerns districts such as Farsta, Skogås, Flemingsberg, Vårby, Enskededalen and Bagarmossen.
“Through camera surveillance from the air, we will be able to monitor places in a more dynamic way based on intelligence and analyzes of crime. We will also be able to locate and identify perpetrators who commit crimes and also contribute to preliminary investigations with the aim of achieving increased prosecutions,” says Hanna Paradis , commanding officer for the special incident that deals with recent serious violent crimes, to the police website.
The operation with drones begins at 16:00 on Saturday and ends at 06:00 on Monday morning.
