A new legislation regarding work in border areas gives the police extended powers to search, for example, cars if illegal substances are feared to have entered.
This has been used during this year’s Student Ski to stop the importation of narcotics.
– We have established a collaboration with customs and work more towards the Norwegian side.
The police suspect that much of the narcotics comes in from Norway, as a number of those who were suspected last year were Norwegian people.
– We expect an upswing this year and that is why we work preventively against drugs.
