– We have received an ID and the police can thereby confirm that the one we found is the previously missing woman. Relatives have been notified, says Mårten Stål, station commander in the local police area Hälsingland.
Disappeared since mid-April
It was on April 10 that the woman was last seen. In the days that followed, the woman was reported missing and since then, many have become involved in the search for her. Volunteers, divers, dogs, police and drones have searched the area where both the woman’s car and dog were found near a bathing area outside Järvsö, just over a week after the disappearance.
The work of the police continues
At present, the police can not determine the cause of death. An earlier theory has been that the woman may have been out on the ice with her dog, and that they both ended up unhappily in the flowing water.
– As before, the police do not suspect any crime, unless something remarkable emerges from forensic medicine, regarding the cause of death, says Mårten Stål.
