The police confirm: Had information that the murder suspect would commit acts of violence

Right now, three bloody gang conflicts are taking place in Uppsala, according to information to SVT. One is between the Dalen network and the Foxtrot network – which is led by Rawa Majid, also called the “Kurdish Fox” – another is supposed to be an internal split within the Foxtrot network and the third is supposed to be between the Foxtrot network and a 27-year-old Uppsala resident.

Based on the escalating spiral of violence, the police in Uppsala have launched a special operation to be able to link extra resources to both investigations and to stop any revenge actions.

Got a tip about a murder suspect

According to information to SVT, the police had received a tip that the 19-year-old, who despite his denial is now in custody on suspicion of the murder of the woman in the Gränby area last week, had been assigned to commit an act of violence in Uppsala – but that the tip was put aside.

– I can confirm that we had information about one of the suspects, but it was very vague and we did everything we could to move forward. We didn’t know who was the target, says Andreas Pallinder.

Shooting at relative

Two days after the murder, a residence in Stenhagen was shelled. According to information to SVT, a relative of Rawa Majid was the target, but that the shooter got the address wrong. At the time of the shooting, children were in the residence.

You say that you monitor addresses – then how can such a shooting take place?

– We have addresses that we have a presence at to the best of our ability, but unfortunately we are not enough all the way, says Andreas Pallinder.
