Despite all the technological advances, the police are still dependent on police dogs. There are around 400 of them in Sweden, and the police are now calling for more. For example, it could be dogs that can be relocated from private individuals for various reasons. That’s what police officer Hannah Bergelin says in SVT’s Veckan with Camilla and Leif GW.
– We have a constant need for police dogs, says Hannah Bergelin.
Lives with his dog handler
She herself has had the dog Örsten living with her since he was a puppy. This is usually how the police dogs in Sweden live – with their handlers.
– He is also my bodyguard because he is the one who discovers the perpetrators first, says Hannah Bergelin.
