The police after the shooting in Farsta: They are seriously injured

A 15-year-old boy died and three others were injured in connection with the shooting that took place in Farsta in southern Stockholm on Saturday evening. Two men in their 20s are now under arrest on suspicion of murder. According to the police, the condition of the injured is serious.
– They are injured to varying extents, but we have classified them as seriously injured, says Ola Österling, press spokesperson at the Stockholm police region.

Four people were hit, of which a 15-year-old boy died, in the shooting early yesterday evening at the subway station in Farsta. A man, a woman and another 15-year-old boy are being treated in hospital with serious injuries.

About an hour later, two men in their 20s were arrested on the E4 at the Järna traffic stop. Later on Saturday evening, the suspects were arrested for murder and attempted murder.

During the night to Sunday, the police carried out several house searches. Several people have also been brought in for questioning.

Forensic technicians have also been on the scene and carried out a crime scene investigation at the three locations where the gunshot victims were found. They have also carried out a crime scene investigation in the men’s getaway car.

The police do not rule out that more people may be arrested.

Investigates connection to previous acts of violence

It is unclear what relationship the arrested men have to the people shot and whether they are known to the police from before.
– We have mapped them based on the history we have of both men, says Österling.

The police cannot currently comment on whether the people who were shot were the targets of the shooting.

– We cannot report it for confidentiality reasons, because then we could destroy further investigation and the investigative measures that we are in the process of continuing with today, says Ola Österling, press spokesperson at the Stockholm police region.

It is also not possible to comment on whether the shooting is connected to other acts of violence that occurred during the weekend.

– We are looking at parallel events that have taken place recently, and also events further back in time in the Stockholm region and other regions in order to be able to draw conclusions about the context in which this has occurred. But I cannot make public what we have arrived at, says Ola Österling.

During Sunday, the police will continue the work of going through footage from surveillance cameras and they will get answers to the traces that have been sent for analysis.
