According to the police, they have a good picture of what happened in connection with the fatal shooting that took place in Farsta on Saturday evening. But now it is feared that revenge attacks may occur.
– We know that this type of event entails an increased risk of retaliation, says police chief Max Åkerwall during a press conference on Sunday.
Four people were hit, of which a 15-year-old boy died, in connection with the shooting that took place near the subway station in Farsta on Saturday evening. A man, a woman and another 15-year-old boy are being treated in hospital with serious injuries.
About an hour after the crime occurred, two men in their 20s were arrested on the E4 at the Järna junction. Later on Saturday evening, the suspects were arrested for murder and attempted murder.
According to the police, they have a good picture of the sequence of events when the shooting occurred.
– In addition, we also have access to relatively good image material from the incident, says Max Åkerwall.
Known to the police from before
The two arrested men in their 20s are already known to the police, and according to Max Åkerwall they will be detained shortly.
At the press conference, the police further confirmed that an automatic weapon was used in the shooting.
– Four people have been hit by automatic fire, says Åkerwall.
“Not locked into any motif image”
At the moment, the police are working according to several different hypotheses. They are also working to secure the evidence in the ongoing preliminary investigation.
– It’s barely been a day since the incident, and we haven’t locked ourselves into any motive image. There are several different hypotheses, but I have to come back with them, says Max Åkerwall.
– For us, the focus right now is to secure the evidence in the ongoing preliminary investigation as far as possible, and in addition constantly balance it against various forms of proactive measures and take care of the plaintiff’s perspective.
