The podcast duo Rosanna Charles and Sanna Guidetti are accused of anti-Semitism

Rosanna Charles and True Guidetti run together the podcast “Högt i tak”. In their podcast, they can discuss and talk about most topics.

On Thursday, they released a new podcast episode, which they later chose to take down. The reason was that the podcast duo were accused of making anti-Semitic remarks in the episode, something like The Express was the first to report on.

Sanna Guidetti admits the operation: “Yes, I have done it”

Spread anti-Semitic conspiracy theories

In the episode, they discussed Sveriges Radio’s decision to break with Philip Dikmen, as intended presenter for this year’s “Musikhjälpen”.

Filip Dikmen has spoken out about the war between Israel and Hamas in several videos on his social media, which is said to have been a reason why he will not become the host of the radio show.

The podcast duo also talked about the artist Kanye West. They believed that Kanye West should have claimed that Jews control the economy, politics and the majority of all major news and music companies, write The Express.

– There was some interview with Kanye West. Something that why no other artists speak out is because the music companies are kind of … owned, Sanna Guidetti said in the now deleted podcast episode.

Rosanna Charles then fills in her sentence:

– By Jews?

– Yes, Israelis, said Sanna Guidetti.

– Yes, it’s clear, but Jews own everything, said Rosanna Charles in the now deleted podcast episode.

Then they play an audio clip from an interview with Kanye West before continuing to talk about the same topic.

– That’s the way it is. It is owned by everything. It’s the same with those who post about Palestine, they get “shadowbanned”, then says Rosanna Charles.

The Jewish Central Council on the podcast episode: “Totally horrified”

Now Aron Verständig, chairman of the Jewish Central Council, commented on Sanna Guidetti and Rosanna Charles’ statements in the podcast episode.

– I am completely horrified by how two role models for so many young people choose to share purely anti-Semitic conspiracy theories, he tells Expressen.

He also believes that this type of statement increases anti-Semitism in society.

– To then watch it is to spread classic anti-Semitic conspiracy theories about Jews controlling the media and having power can have very serious consequences. In the worst case, physical violence against Jews but also harassment, says Aron Verständig The Express.

The podcast duo faces criticism from several quarters

Also the moderates’ press secretary Amos Friedman has criticized the podcast duo’s statement.

“Are Sanna Guidetti and Rosanna Charles really sitting and saying that Jews own everything and control the media? Wow. Classic conspiracy theory to spread. A clarification from the podcast duo to their tens of thousands of listeners would probably be in order,” he writes on X, formerly Twitter.

Rosanna Charles and Sanna Guidetti apologize

On Thursday afternoon, Rosanna Charles and Sanna Guidetti took to the podcast’s Instagram account and apologized for what they said.

“We want to apologize for having conversations in the last episode of Högt i tak that can be misinterpreted. We realize that our words and the audio clip about Jewish owners of large companies can be perceived as anti-Semitic. We understand that we may have fueled a prejudice about Jewish power and influence. That was never our intention and we understand how problematic this can be perceived. We. distance ourselves from all of Kanye’s anti-Semitic claims. We should have been more careful.”.
