The Pocket Book celebrates its 70th anniversary and publishes a Machiavellian novel

It was in February 1953 that the first “Pocket Books” appeared. Today, with more than a billion copies sold since its creation in 1953, Le Livre de Poche is the leading pocket-format publisher in France, with an extensive literary catalog, from great classics to contemporary French bestsellers and foreigners, from how-to books to essays and reference works. For the 70th anniversary of the Livre de Poche, the general manager Béatrice Duval is our guest.

Cain's Jaw

“Six murders.

One hundred pages.

Millions of possibilities…

only one is good.

The pages of this book were accidentally printed out of order, but it is possible – with a bit of intelligence and logic – to put them back in order, and thus discover who the six victims and their murderers are.

Since 1934, only three people have managed to solve the riddle of The Jaws of Cain: are you strong enough to join their ranks?

Warning: This devilish riddle is not recommended for the faint-hearted.” (Presentation of the editor)
