The plane departing from Arlanda to Mariehamn caught fire | News in brief

In Sweden, the plane’s engine caught fire at Arlanda Airport when the plane was leaving for Mariehamn, says a Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet.

According to the rescue service, all 26 people on board the Populair company were able to be evacuated. At nine o’clock in the evening, the extinguishing work was still underway.

Police spokesperson Nadia Norton told Aftonbladet that apparently the engine caught fire when the plane was started.

According to Norton, no one was injured in the incident.

Arlanda International Airport is located approximately 40 kilometers from Stockholm.
