Communication with the plane carrying Rainer Schaller, the founder of MacFit, one of the world’s largest fitness chains, was cut off yesterday. The plane, which was stated to carry 5 passengers with Schaller, was going from Mexico to Costa Rica. The Costa Rican press announced the bad news in the morning after communication with the plane was cut off.
TWO BODY FOUND ON THE SURFACE OF THE SEA
While it was announced that two bodies were found floating in the sea in the morning, it was stated that the bodies were in the area where Schaller’s plane crashed. Martín Arias, deputy minister of public safety in Costa Rica, said the debris found at sea “apparently” came from the crashed plane.
LOST FROM RADAR DURING LANDING
Fernando Naranjo, director of the civil aviation authority, told the Costa Rican press, “The plane disappeared from radar about 25 miles (about 40 km) ago when it was about to land at Limón airport. The last communication with the plane was at an altitude of two thousand feet.” said.
EXPLANATION FROM MACFIT
In the first statement made by MacFit, one of the world’s largest fitness chains, it was stated that Schaller was on the plane, while his girlfriend and two children were with him.
While it was stated that the search efforts were interrupted due to bad weather conditions, no clear information was shared about why the plane crashed.
