The pizzas ended up in the ditch – then the police moved out

The police in Hudiksvall jumped in as pizza delivery men after the regular food delivery man ran off the road and overturned.

“To avoid that the ordered pizzas would be too late and cold, the police patrol made sure to deliver the pizzas to the customer who lived nearby,” the police write on their website.

The accident happened at 5pm on Christmas Day. The driver has been taken to hospital for a check-up. No one is suspected of a crime.

“Police on the scene determined that the place was slippery and it was probably the slip that was the cause of the accident,” the police write.

– When we get there that it was a food delivery that overturned. The food delivery can then be taken to hospital by ambulance for a check without serious injuries, and the patrol on site had little time to spare so they decided to deliver the pizza to the customer who lived nearby, says Daniel Winge of the police to TV4 Nyheterna.

Wasn’t the customer surprised when the police stood outside the door with pizza?

– They probably could have, but it wouldn’t be delivered too far away and it was otherwise calm. Nice to be able to invite when the opportunity arises, and it was nice that we could finish like this, concludes Daniel Winge.
