The pizza baker in Sundsvall closes on New Year’s Day – due to stress

It has become such a big tradition to eat pizza on New Year’s Day that the first of January is also called International Pizza Day.

Many pizza bakers around Sweden have prepared for the big pizza day, including Vincent Cavaleri who has loaded up with double batches of dough.

But someone who is not baking pizza today is Özay “Lillen” Özcelik in Sundsvall – he has closed and is resting and spending time with his family.

No time to be social with customers

For Özay, the relationship with the guests is very important. And during New Year’s Day he doesn’t have time to be social and treat them as well as he would like.

– I see the guests as part of the family, so I don’t want them to be sour or dissatisfied. There is a value in it that I don’t want to damage for a single day, he says.

Something that drives Özay is love – in the clip he talks about his concept.
