The pirate site ETTV in turn throws in the towel… for lack of money

The pirate site ETTV in turn throws in the towel

“Hi, and thanks again for the fish! » It is with this reference to The Galactic Traveler’s Guide that “sidekickbob” put an end to the pirate site ETTV which he had administered for almost two years.
If he threw in the towel, it is obviously not for audience reasons, because the site had an average of 250,000 regular visitors per day. The problem was financial.

“I couldn’t afford to make it work anymore. I will not renew domains,” he explained to TorrentFreak.

ETTV operations began in 2011, under the leadership of an illustrious unknown pirate who wanted to speed up the publication of pirated content. The idea was to provide an alternative to EZTV, a group that was already broadcasting infringing content in the form of BitTorrent, but with a delay that some felt was too long.
Between the time the content was provided by The Scene and the time it was available in Torrent form, hours could pass. ETTV, for its part, relied on a software robot that scoured The Scene’s publication lists to go faster.

These torrents were usually published on the ExtraTorrent site. When the latter lowered the curtain in 2017, the ETTV stream administrator created a dedicated site, before disappearing from circulation a few years later. The torch had been taken up by “sidekickbob”, who now finds himself dry. It’s the end of an era.
