The piece of wood that saved Rose in the Titanic

The wood paneling of the film has been talking to fans for years.

Ever since the movie Titanic came out, fans have wondered if there wasn’t room for Jack in the panel that saved Rose. Now that piece of wood has been auctioned for about 719,000 dollars (666,000 euros), says BBC.

The panel was sold at an auction that featured sets and costumes owned by the Planet Hollywood restaurant chain. Managed the auction Heritage Auctions said the panel is a replica from a piece that belonged to a door frame on the Titanic. The door itself led to the first class lounge.

Titanic director James Cameron said in 2012 on Mythbusters that she had received a flurry of emails calling Rose selfish and Jack an idiot for that scene. At the same time, he put an end to speculation, saying that Jack had to die because the script said so.

The whip from the movie Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom was also sold at the auction for 525,000 dollars (486,000 euros). Spider-Man’s suit went for $125,000 (€116,000). Jack Nicholson The ax he wielded in the Hohto movie was sold for the same amount.
