The pictures of Armand Duplantis as a child just make everyone cheer – and show why he is completely unstoppable

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

Armand Duplantis completely dominates the world of pole vaulting.
And there is probably a reason for that.
Just check out this video on “Mondo” as a kid and it’s easy to see why.

Armand “Mondo” Duplantis has already won everything that can be won in pole vaulting. As an 18-year-old European Championship gold in Berlin after jumping 6.05, a height that meant a junior world record. After that it just rolled on.

Unbeatable Mondo

During the Olympics in Tokyo, it was gold in total unthreatened style since the Swede did not tear a single time during the entire competition. But the biggest merit was probably saved in 2022, when Duplantis showed the whole world that he is completely unbeatable.

For starters, he broke his own indoor world record, a record that now stands at 6.20. He then followed up the feat by taking home the WC gold with another record jump during the World Athletics Championships in Eugene, USA. That time the height was a breathtaking 6.21, and worth noting from there is that he was not even close to tearing.

Powerful video

And of course there is a reason why Armand Duplantis is so dominant in the world of pole vaulting. In a clip that he himself published on Tik Tok, you can see how Duplantis, as a child at home in the United States, sets up a bar about one meter high and jumps over it.

The text of the clip reads “how it started”, before the next clip comes where “Mondo” has written “how it goes”. In that clip, you can see a jump from the summer of 2021 when he jumped over six meters. The comments below the clip are pure tributes, and it is impossible not to marvel at the pole vaulting phenomenon Armand Duplantis.
“Not just the pride of athletics, but the superstar of all of Sweden,” writes one user in a comment under the clip.

“He’s absolutely insanely good, world class,” adds another. And you can’t help but agree.
