The phenomenal Max Verstappen overtook Ayrton Senna at his favorite

Max Verstappen has won no fewer than seven of the nine races this season.

Red Bull, who leads the World Series of Formula One drivers by far Max Verstappen drove to a sovereign victory in the ninth race of the season at the Spielberg track in Austria. The Dutch star, who already grabbed his seventh first place of the season, surpassed the legendary Ayrton Senna.

Verstappen, who achieved the fifth most wins of all time, now has 42 first places, while Senna, considered one of the best of all time, had 41. The Brazilian legend died in the tragic Imola GP of 1994. Senna won three world championships.

Verstappen was again so superior that he could afford to go get new tires in the very last laps of the race and record the fastest lap of the race for one additional point.

In the first half of the competition Charles Leclerc was in the lead thanks to his pit stop during the virtual safety car. However, Verstappen quickly caught a gap of six seconds and sped past the Monaco crash on lap 35.

For Verstappen, the Austrian Spielburg circuit is very favorable, as the victory was already his fourth at that circuit. Leclerc drove his best finish of the season, being second ahead of Red Bull Sergio Perezwho made a spectacular rise from square 15.

Verstappen also won yesterday’s sprint race, for which he got eight points. His World Championship lead over the second-placed Perez is already 81 points.
