The Peugeot 408 is finally on the scene Coupe SUV

The Peugeot 408, which is included in the product range as the brother of the Citroen C5 X, will differ from all models with its design character.

It’s time to meet the brand new 408 model, which Peugeot has been working on for a long time, with all its nakedness. Preferring to position the same badge on the sedan model in the Far East market, Peugeot plays its card on the SUV side due to the orientations on the European side. The Peugeot 408 SUV, which we can describe as a sister to the Citroen C5 X, will be positioned between the 308 and 3008 in the product range. The model, which has the potential to capture a brand new user base with Coupe dynamics, which has increased in the market in recent years, also creates the feeling of a successful transmission operation in terms of design.

Peugeot 408 in numbers

When we look at the new 408, which we see built on the EMP2 platform, in terms of dimensions; It stands out with its length of 4,690 millimeters, a wheelbase of 2787 millimeters and a height of 1480 millimeters. We see that the values are 440 millimeters on the length side and 40 millimeters on the height side, from 308. With these dynamics, the vehicle, which is one of the most assertive in its product range, comes with 188 millimeters of rear seat legroom. Promising a very serious luggage volume with 536 liters, this value can reach up to 1,611 liters when the rear seats are folded. The front and rear design of the vehicle is definitely remarkable with its characters. In addition to the new brand logo, it is possible to approach the 408 with the perception of a premium model with the small touches on the grille panel and the slim-LED headlight group. The aggressive structure of the rear bumpers and the unique design structure of the 20-inch wheels also make the vehicle very remarkable.

On the hardware side of the new 408, almost all weapons have been mobilized. Driving support systems supported by 6 cameras and 9 radars offered in the vehicle are at the latest technology level. Among these systems; Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop&Go function, ‘Night Vision’ Night Vision System, which detects animals, pedestrians or cyclists ahead of them before they appear in the high beam and warns the driver, Long Range Blind Spot Warning System (75 meters), and Reverse Maneuver, which warns of a possible danger when reversing. Traffic Alert System draws attention. Lastly, the Night Vision System, which we saw in Opel Grandland, detects living things in front of the vehicle at night or when visibility is poor, with the infrared vision system before the high-beam headlights’ visibility. The long-range blind spot monitoring system scans up to 75 meters. Rear traffic alert warns the driver of imminent danger when reversing.
