The pet provides SEK 800 per newborn

In an attempt to preserve certain breeds within the Animal Kingdom, the Swedish Board of Agriculture offers financial support to breed and keep some animals.

The reason behind it is that one wants to secure the survival of some threatened pet species.

One of the animals that you can get compensation for is certain types of horses.

Horses of the breeds Northern Swedish, Ardennes and Russ are assessed by the Swedish Board of Agriculture that threatened, and those who raise such horses are therefore entitled to compensation.

The grant is SEK 800 per born foal.

However, there are some requirements you must fulfill before you can get the money.

Jonas Fjertorphead of the rural analysis unit at the Swedish Agricultural Agency, explains what applies to News24.

– In order to receive compensation, the animals must be registered with a breeding association or be part of a breeding association’s gene bank for preservation, he says and continues:

– In addition to support to the animal owners, support is given to the breeding associations responsible for conservation work.
