The best action movie currently in cinemas is undoubtedly John Wick: Chapter 4. The latest installment in the assassin series starring Keanu Reeves delivers 169 minutes Inferno of broken bones. However, the sequel is not completely unrivalled. Netflix also has a say in all the bloodshed.
Starting tomorrow you can stream Kill Boksoon on Netflix. The South Korean action thriller premiered at the Berlinale in February and mixed the film festival with brutal and extremely well choreographed action scenes on. In the end, the film even ventures a glimpse into a bloody multiverse.

The story revolves around Bok-soon (Do-yeon Jeon) who leads a double life. On the one hand, she has made a name for herself as a killer who carries out her orders quickly and precisely. On the other hand, as a single mother, she takes care of her daughter Jae-yeong (Si-a Kim) – with much less success.

Kill Boksoon stands in terms of content and aesthetics in the tradition of the John Wick films. While we follow furious battle sequences in glowing neon images, the film invests a lot of time in explaining the world of contract killers. MK takes the place of the High Chamber. The homicide agency is meticulous about following a code when killing. But it only gets really exciting when the rules are broken.
It’s not just the characters in the film who break the rules. The film also ventures into unexpected places. So we experience some fights several times in different versions, before all possible fight decisions are made in a breathtaking action sequence at the end take place simultaneously. At this point, Kill Boksoon feels like the unleashed multiverse version of John Wick.
