Narges Mohammadi is awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2023 for her fight for the women of Iran.

The chairman of the Norwegian Nobel Committee, Berit Reiss-Andersen, began his speech in Oslo with the slogan of the Iranian women’s movement: “Woman, life, freedom”.

Mohammadi has worked for women’s rights and against the death penalty in her home country. The award is further motivated by her “fight to promote human rights and freedom for all”.
