The Moderates’ Youth Association no longer lives up to “the condition of democratic development”. That is what the Authority for Youth and Civil Society Affairs, MUCF, writes.
– What we have seen during our investigation has been worrying and could be an obstacle to the payment of grants. We have therefore paused the payments to MUF, says Anna Löfving, head of unit, MUCF.
The reason is TV4 Nyheterna’s revelation about the Moderate Youth Association’s chairman Douglas Thor who is said to have tried to influence the election of the MUF chairman in Jämtland.
After the incident, MUCF has conducted an audit which shows that vote buying did not occur. But the fact that Thor tried to buy votes is “extremely problematic”.
The authority is now considering demanding back the state organization grant granted to Muf for 2023 of just over SEK 2.7 million.
