The parties agree: The salaries of pilots in the air force will be increased

The pilot crisis has been going on for a long time. Already last year, around thirty fighter pilots left the profession after widespread dissatisfaction with pensions, working conditions and wages.

But now the Swedish Armed Forces announces in a press release that an agreement is now in place to raise the salaries of pilots.

Receives supplement for studies

The new collective agreements include, among other things, a pilot allowance consisting of 15 percent of the salary. In addition, a study allowance of SEK 3,000 extra per month is added to the people who are being trained to become future pilots in the air force.

The parties have now also agreed on changes regarding the pension.

– We are self-critical and of course could have acted earlier, but this agreement is more positive than I could have hoped for. I am very satisfied that we have now arrived at new conditions for the air force’s pilots, says the head of the air force, Major General Jonas Wikman.
