The US has had peace negotiations with the Sudanese army and the RSF (Rapid Support Forces) forces. Now the parties have agreed on a truce for three days. US Foreign Minister Antony Blinken informs about this. He also says that they continue to work to end the internal fighting. There are both regional and international representatives who are involved and are trying to negotiate a lasting ceasefire.
At least 427 people have died and tens of thousands of people have fled the country since fighting broke out on April 15. Sweden and other countries are now evacuating citizens on site in Sudan.
