Ebba Årsjö has been very open in her views on para sports.
Now comes new criticism from the star.
– I think I speak for everyone, says Årsjö to Dagens Nyheter.
Since Ebba Årsjö at the age of 18, she has competed in para sports. In alpine skiing, the 22-year-old makes his mark when it comes to competing for the biggest medals. And she’s not afraid of what people think!
Årsjö brave
Årsjö competes in para sports as she was born with Klippel-Trénaunay syndrome. This has meant that her right leg has not been able to form muscles to the same extent as her left leg, and that the right leg lacks a layer of skin and a foot pad. Something that makes her skiing difficult and causes a lot of pain in her leg.

The 22-year-old has been very open about his functional variation, and has shown it off on social media. Something for which she rightly received a lot of love and great praise. Årsjö is also very open with his thoughts and opinions regarding the right of parasport in the sports world and on the biggest stage.
Heavy criticism
Last fall, the Swede caused quite a stir when she questioned the International Ski Federation’s (FIS) decision not to include the para sport in the winter schedule on her social media. Now Årsjö is following up on that criticism.
– What I was referring to, and was careful in what I wrote, was that it is not that difficult to just post a story or a picture of us as well. Why can’t they just help us? It’s only been a year and we understand that it’s not really strange that we end up in the shadows, that they might be giving us shit, says Ebba to DN.

FIS replied that they are working on improving their communication around the para sports. Årsjö thought the answer was so bad that it was good, as it showed the union’s ignorance. She hopes for a change in the future.
– Everyone shares that image. I think I speak for everyone. Then there are some who express themselves a little more angrily about it than others, but this is talked about all the time. If Fis joins in, it will be even more professional on another level. We need practical help and a new arrangement for the competitions with better courses and better arenas, says Årsjö to the daily newspaper.
