Five years have passed since the giant panda Sheng Yi was born at a zoo in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Three years later, she had a little sister, Yi Yi. Now it is time for the siblings, who are the children of two Chinese pandas, to return to China, according to AFP.

Actually, the siblings would have been sent home in 2020. But the pandemic delayed the trip. Big sister Nuan Nuan is already back in China since 2017.

China has long conducted diplomacy with the help of pandas. Parents Xing Xing and Liang Liang were loaned to Malaysia from China in 2014 to mark 40 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries, according to AFP.

For now, the parents will remain in Malaysia.
