Guinea’s leadership allows Condé to leave the country for “humanitarian reasons” and out of respect for his dignity and integrity.

The junta adds that he will receive medical treatment abroad, and according to information, Condé flew to Turkey on Saturday.

The former president of the West African country aroused great dissatisfaction when he wanted to change the constitution so that he could stand for a third term. He was then elected for a third time in 2020, with massive protests as a result.

The coup against him in September 2021 was led by Mamady Doumbouya, and Condé was imprisoned to be investigated for, among other things, aiding and abetting murder, torture and rape.

The accusations against Condé must have been dropped.
