Thunderclap yesterday in the ranks of the opposition: several irregularities in the organization of the election of the opponents’ primary were publicly denounced. Inadequate voting locations, unworkable planning, and all without the technical assistance of the National Electoral Council. These criticisms were made by Maria Carolina Uzcategui, the former vice-president of the national primaries commission. She resigned last July from the entity in charge of the organization because, according to her, the conditions were not met to organize a major consultation of the opposition. And she notably raised a still unresolved question:
” What will happen if the candidate chosen by the primaries ultimately cannot register as a candidate? This question is a debt that politicians owe to the country. »
Several candidates at the top of the polls have in fact been declared ineligible. And Maria Carolina Uzcategui ended her press conference by making a proposal: “ The proposal could be this: suspend and restart the entire primary process. There is no date for the presidential election yet. But currently the conditions are not good. »
Is the former vice-president of the primaries commission at the boot of power and is she trying to sabotage the primary ballot? Nobody knows but one thing is certain, many Venezuelan citizens would like the answers to the questions she asked.
