After almost a week of battle, Lyoudmila Navalnaïa partly won her case. The mother of Russian opponent Alexeï Navalny, who died last Friday in his prison in the Arctic, claimed that she was able to see the body of her son this Thursday.
This Tuesday, she called on Vladimir Putin to hand over her son’s body “without delay”, with the opponent’s team accusing the authorities of hiding his remains to cover up a “murder”.
“They want everything to be done secretly”
However, the situation is far from resolved. Navalny’s mother accused Russian authorities of “blackmailing” her over her son’s burial. “They want everything to be done secretly, without ceremony, they want to take me to the confines of a cemetery, near a fresh grave, and tell me “here lies your son”, I do not agree with this,” said Lyoudmila Navalnaïa, in a video released Thursday by the opponent’s team.
