After 9 parts, it’s hard to imagine that the star initially had doubts about the future of the Fast & Furious franchise. As Screen Rant reports, Vin Diesel were back then up to $25 million fee offered for 2 Fast 2 Furious, which the star turned down. At the time, Diesel considered the first part to be a standalone milestone that was not to have any sequels:
I had started to think of the first Fast and Furious as a classic, like a new Rebel Without a Cause. If we ‘continued’ it the way the studios were doing back then by we just throw a story togetherI’d ruin the chance of this first one becoming a classic.

The script for the sequel is said to have been too bad for Diesel. In his opinion it was just some story stamped with the Fast & Furious stampto make more money with it.
