The Olympic finalist’s suspension is lifted

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

Bol tested positive for EPO earlier this year, in a urine sample taken in October. The substance can be used to increase oxygenation capacity.

The 28-year-old states that he has never taken any illegal substance.

“Last month I told everyone I was innocent and asked everyone in Australia to believe me and let the process continue,” the runner wrote in a statement published on Twitter.

Usually, the B test confirms the results of the A test.

“The relief I feel is hard to describe,” says Bol.

The Australian Anti-Doping Authority SIA writes in one statement that the B sample was not negative, but that it is classified as atypical. That type of result means that you need to investigate the matter further, and that you cannot state how long it will take. For the time being, however, SIA is lifting the suspension.
