For Ken Loach, each film is a form of resistance. Each image calls for solidarity. At 87 years old, the British master (twice Palme d’Or, Golden Lion, Golden Leopard, etc.) has once again created a cinematic clenched fist with his camera: The Old Oak. It is the story of a village still shaken by the closure of mines in the north of England, but forced to welcome Syrian refugees.
